MICHAEL KORS AND MOONSTRUCK CHOCOLATE CAFE
JOIN THE MALL AT SHORT HILLS
Spring is a busy season at The Mall at Short Hills. Michael Kors will showcase his women's accessories and fashions in his newest boutique at The Mall at Short Hills and Moonstruck Chocolate Cafe will open their first New Jersey location at the shopping center. These boutiques join other recent additions, including Allen Edmonds and Ralph Lauren, and several boutiques that will be premiering in new locations.
The Michael Kors heritage is rooted in polished, sleek, sophisticated American sportswear with a jet-set attitude which are showcased in his newest women's boutique at The Mall at Short Hills, located on the upper level near Macy's. Michael Kors began his career in fashion at the age of 19 and in 1981 the Michael Kors label was formed. Since the collection was established, it has never strayed from Kors' initial vision of chic, luxurious American sportswear, which now includes handbags, shoes, belts, eyewear, small leather goods and fragrance, all of which are highlighted at The Mall at Short Hills.
Some standout awards in Kors' career include being named by Vogue magazine part of the "new establishment" in 1996 and referred to as one of the most influential designers of the decade. In 1999 Kors received the most prestigious award in the fashion industry - the CFDA Award for womenswear designer of the year, followed by the CFDA menswear award in 2003. In 2004 Kors served as one of the judges on the critically acclaimed reality show "Project Runway" and continued on the show for its second and third seasons.
Moonstruck Chocolate Cafe was founded on the premise that chocolate is not simply a candy, but an experience to be enjoyed by all the senses. New Jersey's first boutique will offer their full line of classic and seasonal handcrafted artisan chocolates in a relaxed and comfortable cafe setting. The cafe will also serve unique espresso and chocolate-based beverages including handmade milkshakes along with fresh pastries and decadent desserts.
Moonstruck opened it first store in the heart of Portland in 1996 and today the company's delicately crafted truffles and other fine confections are inspired works that have been enjoyed in such prestigious locations as the White House. Moonstruck products are made with only the finest, freshest ingredients, including chocolate that originates from rare cocoa beans that are among the highest quality produced anywhere in the world. By artfully blending exquisite chocolate with other natural ingredients found in the Pacific Northwest, Moonstruck creates a rare, world-class and truly special chocolate.
These two boutiques will join recent Mall at Short Hills additions -- New Jersey's first Allen Edmonds and Ralph Lauren (childrenswear). Located on the upper level near Saks Fifth Avenue, Allen Edmonds features the world's finest men's footwear, accessories and cedar products using the philosophy of quality, service, and integrity as the cornerstone of the Allen Edmonds name. At Allen Edmonds, shoemaking is considered an art form and each pair is crafted by hand in a process that includes 212 separate production steps. Ralph Lauren's second U.S. childrenswear boutique is located at The Mall at Short Hills on the upper level near Macy's. Customers can find an enhanced range of Ralph Lauren classic and vintage apparel and accessories for layette and infant, girls ages 2-13 and boys ages 2-15. Featuring seasonal styles as well as the full range of Ralph Lauren icons, including classic polos, oxford shirts, navy blazers and unsurpassed cashmere, Ralph Lauren childrenswear brings style to everyday wear and special occasions.
